Confident hope surrounded by chaos

I hate to break it to you, but this world is chaos! In case you were wondering it is not just you my friend. We are all going through this crazy messed up, mixed up chaos of a life. Life that wants to pull us in every direction so we have no time or energy to pour into others, no time to reach out to the lost and no time to encourage and strengthen the church. We all have the opportunity to look around wondering where that peace Jesus offers is at. Wondering when that joy in the morning is supposed to arrive?

Friends, I want to let you know Jesus is wondering the same about you! He’s watching and wondering when it’s going to click that it’s up to us. The joy, peace, and confident hope is already ours and all we need to do is grab a hold of it! God has done his part, Jesus has died and risen from the dead.

Paul is writing to the Ephesians and praying the same thing. The enemy has nothing new my friends! Distraction and discouragement have always been his tactics. He has no new tricks up his sleeves, we just need to open our eyes and become aware of it.

Ephesians 1:16-23

I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. 17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit[f] of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. 22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

The confident hope, along with joy and peace, come from knowing God. Paul is praying that their knowledge of God increases. That their hearts are flooded with his light so that they could understand the confident hope God has given those he has called. If you have been saved that is you! If you have not been saved that can be you. Jesus died for ALL, so that all could have this, if they would just believe in him and confess that he is Lord.

To know God you need to know your word. BOOM, simple. There is no magical sequence of reading things and steps added and spins afterwards. Read your word. Get to know your Bible and you will get to know God.

With the knowledge of God increasing, you will get to know the power of God. The power of healing, the power that raised Christ from the dead. That power is the power he says is ours if we just believe His word. Not believe in him, because to believe in someone isn’t that difficult, but to believe that he is who he says he is. To believe I am who he says I am. To really believe his words. That is when the same power that raised Jesus is ours. When we take hold of it. It’s waiting for us, within our grasp, but it takes action.

Jesus is the head of the church and we are the body. What is in Christ also fills us. God has given Christ power to be above all the powers of this world, placing it beneath his feet! Let’s recap that just in case you missed it. We are the body of Christ and he is the head. (Last I checked the feet are a part of the body.) God placed all the things of this world under the FEET of Christ, and the same power that raised Christ from the dead is in us. So I’m believing Gods words, that says we can stand confident that the things of this world are not meant for us! It is all underneath us through the power that we now have through Christ.

Friends, sickness, disease, anxiety and stress, the chaos that is life on earth, is all of this world and not meant for you!

Soak that in, we have the choice to know God and his word so well that we know the power of Christ is in us and we can, through the name of Jesus Christ, claim authority in this world. Not by us, or for us, but for the glory of God. When you are living out the word and seeking to claim souls for Gods glory then you are not meant to live in the chaos of this world.

Know your God by knowing his word and your life will NEVER be the same.

John 14:27

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

He does not give as the world gives, his peace is so much better than anything you could hope for in this world.
